TEMPORARY WORKPLACE SITUATION

Temporary workplace Situation (TWS) emerged out of work I created in the context of the MA in choreography – New Performative Practices, at Stockholm University of the Arts (SKH) 2021–2023.

TWS brought together dance department collegues, students and staff, inviting them into a shared space to temporarily work on whatever they wanted to, in proximity to eachother. The environment both mirrored a recognisable workspace – office, studio, library - but was also made strange via placing a variety of practices, artistic and otherwise, into an improvised constellation of relations.

The choreography and dancing of TWS is underpinned by questions relating to the function of my dancing practice, the ambiguity of a work situation, the work situation as performance, and how shifting some of the conditions in my work environment can re-orient my attention towards what I am working with.
